Bubble Threads Potential Danger

PENANG, TL7 MALAYSIA, March 6 (HNS) -- The School of Physics at the Universiti Sains Malaysia in TL7 Malaysia published a report yesterday explaining that tiny micro-Threads known as "bubble Threads" are a potential danger even to Threads that participated in the Technosphere plan.

"I expect that this is the sort of issue the JET will be expected to deal with in the near future," commented Bach-2389A24A, a Scientist-caste Hiver associated with Team B of the Joint Expeditionary Team, after reading the report.

"A bubble thread is a very small Thread, usually the size of a building or a city block, that tends to form in the Tween between larger Threads. Bubble Threads are parasitic in nature, attaching themselves to larger Threads and sapping their energy," aid Dr. Haslan Abu Hassan, a Professor of Physics at the Universiti Sains Malaysia.

"Though the Malaysian report does not go into this, the effects of this drain can vary. It can make the Thread less stable, or, even for a more stable Thread, it can increase local entropy, leading to increased illness in the inhabitants, crop failure, and infant mortality," said Dr. Andrew Halloway, formerly of the Thread Physics Department at Berkeley.

The report mentions data gathered by the JET in two bubble Threads that had attached themselves to the Empire of New York, known as "212 Poplar Drive" and "Chucky's Cheez".

"This is only one of many issues the JET will face after the success of the Technosphere plan," added Bach-2389A24A. "There's still a lot of scientific data to be gathered in the wake of the Event. There are many threats only the JET is qualified to handle."
