APOPHIS’ FORCES IN TEXAS IN DISARRAY

E-mail Print PDF
GALVESTON, CTX (Collegian) A combined Texas, Napoleonic French and Danzig force launched a major attack on forces near Sabine City and report those forces to have been annihilated.  All of Ishtar’s forces are currently obeying a ceasefire agreement and staying within negotiated boundaries.  Texas and Napoleonic forces have fully invested San Antonio and a rail line between Houston and San Antonio is in progress while a telegraph line with constant patrols is operating.  Naval forces and privateers are constantly harassing Sovereign State of New Orleans and Venezuelan shipping.  Naval forces have also begun attacks on Corpus Christi.  Reports indicate that a number of Lycans have deserted Apophis’ forces to either seek solace with Ishtar or strike out on their own.  Sovereign State of New Orleans forces remain strong in and around Corpus Christi but are no longer able to launch raids as in the past.  Zombies, the standard infantry, have become less frequent.  Secretary of War Hamilton P. Bee commented:  “With the effects of Reunification, the general lowering of the effects of magic, the support of all of our allies and the hard work of a lot of people; we are winning.  The invader may not be booted out yet but it is only a matter of time before we can turn our attentions to the Confederate citizens trapped by the Demon-Government of New Orleans and free them from the horrific conditions they live under.  I think it is time to show Supay and Pachacutec that Texas force of arms, with the aid of our friends and allies, will prevail.” Not all military officers throughout the threads concur on the Secretary of War’s optimism.  “Realistically, clearing out the enemy forces around Corpus Christi may be time consuming and painful.  I have seen reports indicating that Pachacutec is looking to fortify Corpus Christi, purchase or take ships with heavy guns and bomb ships and that the rather formidable mercenary unit known as the Foresworn is still quite loyal,” said Col. William Hart, a Senior PSU Military Analyst.  “Still, I would agree that Texas is much better off than she was.  Especially if a bargain can be made with Ishtar to remove her forces.”
