Feral Detroit (Collegian Staff) May 11 - Brigadier General Katherine Ackerman had quite a surprise when she showed up to the armory for the first day of training. Expecting a handful of volunteers of varying types, the surprise was a whopping 5000 troops ready to be trained to fight in the DAAT. With troops coming from all three of the feral cities, the name DAAT quickly became a misnomer. Gen. Ackerman quickly renamed the fighting men and women the Tri-City Republic Military, or TReM.
Thanks were spread around by Gen. Ackerman, naming Ambassador Jones and Mayor López for their outstanding contributions to the fighting forces. Since Gen. Ackerman will be traveling to find more intel about Apophis and Sedona, she has named Colonel Sinclética Lara Montalvo as her field commander. Colonel Montalvo seems particularly dedicated to "principles of social justice," and is articulate in both English and Spanish, speaking both without an accent.
This new military has ATVs, Humvees, air support and even naval vessels. The gear is top-notch, and the training is rigorous. The training is scheduled to last "for a while" per Gen. Ackerman. This reporter clearly saw a well-defined command structure with ready and able troops. The Republic can stand at ease with our new military protecting us and the world from threats.
